Hi Stu,
On May 2nd the New Braunfels Area Car Club finally had their car show, associated with the Annual Swap Meet (with the exception of last year because of Covid). I had downloaded your software in Jan. 2020 and then we had to cancel the event. Before I shelved everything I wrote a user manual for myself so that a year later or someone else would be able to run the software if I decide to not run the car show in the future.
About 3 weeks before the show I spent about an hour and half with a woman from our car club to familiarize her with the software since she would be doing the input for me so that I could over see everything. She did a marvelous job at entering the entrants and she and her daughter entered the vote ballots. When it came time to tabulate the votes we followed my directions and everything came out perfect.
The participants and club members were so proud of how nice the dash plaques looked and how effortless the ballot ‘counting’ went. The club had never done anything with the car show on the computer and had been reserved about my using it. It was a test and it proved itself. I think that the club will be using it again in the future. It’s a win for us. Thank you for your patience last year in helping me get started and asking questions.

Hello Stu, I just want to thank you publicly for all your help in upgrading your software to satisfy the needs of our large car show. Without you we could not have done it. Our 17th Annual LCBC Car Show and Barbeque had over 1100 vehicles and motorcycles plus scale models and R/C vehicles in 2016. We used your software for pre-registration of 660 plus entries and registered almost 500 additional entries in 3 hours at the show. We used the software to print all the dash plaques, both pre-registered entries as well of day-of-show entries. They looked great! We do People’s Choice balloting and counted the ballots using your Car Show Software. Ballots were easily entered by one person and tabulated in minutes. In previous years this was a laborious and stressful manual process that always took longer than expected. The award presentation went exactly on schedule much to the delight of the participants. Each year we try to improve the Show and at the same time make it a bit easier to produce. The use of your Car Show Software accomplished both. Now we have a large data base and on-site registration will be that much easier this year. Plus we have all the entrant contact information to invite the participants to other motorsports events organized by our Church and of course our 18th Annual Show coming up in June. The Car Show Software is awesome!! Again thanks for all your help. Stu stands behind the product 100%.

What a great piece of work.
I just went through the whole thing almost line by line. The first thing I discovered is that, since it is an Excel document, it will open on any machine with Office on it. So, it opens on my MAC. Second, by using DropBox, it is possible to make individual documents and share them … work on them as a group … one person does N&A input at home, and it is all done by the time the car show comes around except for people who have never been there before.
I think that this is going to be great.
I am pleased.

This really looks great. I like the way you laid it out. My wife, who does the registration for our shows and also the number crunching at the end, will recreate our last show by putting all the data in and see how it all compares. At this point I’m sure if there’s an error it will be on her. She will do this within the next week or two and I’ll let you know the results.
I think you really have something here that most small car clubs would desire. At any point someone should want to talk to someone who uses your program, I would be glad to do that for you.
Anyway we will get back with you once my wife enters the data.

I just wanted to let you know I showed your software to people running the car show. They didn’t believe me at first. After question and question I was able to prove to them that what they needed is all included in your software. I’m actually quite a lazy person and after having been at the table that compiles the results manually from the judges I knew there had to be some software out there that could create results in minutes. I have used your software for 2 years now and just completed my biggest challenge this past weekend. Usually our shows are 60 to 70 cars but this past weekend we held a one day show that drew 236 participants. These participants generated 893 votes, we gave out Top 20, and calculated 18 Class Winners plus 9 special awards. I don’t know what we would have done without the help of this software. With the software we were able to start giving out awards a little over an hour after shutting off balloting and if we had to do this by hand I think that we’d still be there.
Thanks for your work with this software and all the headaches that it eliminates. I’m a complete convert and can’t imagine going back to the old way of doing this job.

We would LOVE to have your expert assistance in counting the Pumpkin Festival Classic Car/Truck/Motorcycle Show ballots! The car/truck show will be awarding the TOP 20, Best Paint, Best Cool Ride and Best of Show. We have some expanded categories this time for the motorcycles, and will be awarding trophies for the following classes: Vintage, Bagger, Pro-Street, Custom and Harley, and over-all Best in Show. Just to spice things up, we are also holding a Chili Cook-off competition, and will be awarding a trophy for People’s Choice which will involve tabulating ballots. A separate trophy of Chili Champ will be awarded by local judges.

I just wanted you to know that Western Maine Streetrods used the Best in Show software yesterday at the annual Andover Old Home Days car show in Andover, Maine. The spreadsheet worked great – everyone could see the power and ease of upgrading from a total paper system to computerized registration and ballot tally. I did 100% of the entry myself on a single laptop for a field of 120 cars (excluding the 25 club cars) and we tallied the votes as they came in to the box throughout the morning and afternoon. I had to go back in and assign an alias for a single car that I noticed was not in the correct class and then updated the tally. Nobody could believe that we had the winner’s ready the minute that the voting closed. I thank you so much. I am glad that I decided to search around online for car show software before I asked my son to create a spreadsheet for club use. I really appreciated your quick response to my question regarding the alias assignment. I also watched your YouTube video and that was a huge help. Again, many thanks!

Good News!! After seeing your excel sheet and the voting results performed three different ways, my husband was so impressed with it, he is allowing me to change our car numbering system and simplify our voting system. When I showed him our best of show winner this year only had 7 votes for BOS and very little 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place votes, and how that was unfair to a guy who had over 62 votes for 1st place, he agreed we should change our voting system. He was even trying to come up with a pt system where 1st place votes were 3 pts, 2nd place votes were 2 pts, 1 pt for 3rd place and 5 pts for BOS. But I was able to show him results were going to be pretty much exactly the same.
He was amazed by your spreadsheet and how much it did with all the different components. And he gave me carte blanche to change car numbering (our cars will now be numbered 1-100). We still have to figure out voting system. I think 31 votes per ballot is a bit crazy. But he thinks it elimates everyone voting for the same car and not having any votes for 2nd & 3rd place. When you look at our votes from this year. Only one car out of 75 did not have a single vote and only maybe 5 did not have any votes for 1st place. So I do not think that would really be a huge issue.
I did time the registration process and printing dash plaque. It took me 3-5 minutes to register someone carside this year. With your system on my tablet, it took me 1-3 minutes which includes grabbing goodie bag, collecting fee, and printing dash plaque. Wonderful!!! I also timed the inputting of votes, it took me about 1 minute per ballot (100 ballots=100 minutes). It took 8 of us 180 minutes to tally votes this year, then took me another ½ to count the slashes and determine winners and write out the list for trophy distribuation. Both of these time trials saved considerable time!!!! Maybe I will even be able to enjoy part of our show next year instead of working it the whole time.
My only issue I have now is to figure out how to make my electronics batteries last a full day and be able to see screens in sunlight. LOL

Hello Stu. I just wanted to write and tell you about how the car show went using your “Best of Show” app, and how it worked out for us. IT ROCKED!! As soon as registration forms were turned in, we started entering the data. We created two classes. 1 for AC “Air-Cooled”, and 2 for WC “Water-Cooled” Once registration was closed, and all the data was entered, we handed out the voting ballots. As the voting ballots were turned in, we simply started adding the car numbers down the list. It was that simple. Bam!! Totaled up, set to show top 20, had a total count for each car number, and they were in order in two classes. Very nice! As for the 5 “Best Of” categories we just entered the number of the car with a BS for best of show (example: BS2), an BI for best interior (BI2), etc.. in the Ballot Votes list. Then we just went from the Voting cards and enter them just like the regular votes, and then tallied them up. It didn’t show what class they were in on the Ballot Print Sheet column, but it was easy to reference the car numbers from the Entries by Class column. I have found that every car show I have attended always seems to be delayed at the end due to a delay in tallying votes. Um….not this time Baby!! My itinerary said that awards would be given at 3:00pm. We were ready to go at 2:30. had a list printed with all the data, and started the awards ceremony at 3:00pm, on the dot!
